They Both Suck Political Shirts and Apparel

Party politics turns governing into a loyalty test. A proposal is treated as brilliant or dangerous depending on which color introduced it, while the actual costs, tradeoffs, and results get pushed aside. That is backwards. Policies should stand on evidence, constitutional limits, measurable outcomes, and whether they improve life for the people paying for them.

They Both Suck is not an excuse to stop paying attention. It is a demand to pay closer attention. Read the bill. Follow the money. Ask who gains power, who pays, and whether the promise survives contact with reality. Support a good policy even when it comes from someone you dislike, and reject a bad one even when your preferred side is selling it.

Most political merchandise is a campaign uniform. It tells everyone which team you joined, then asks you to defend everything that team does. These They Both Suck shirts, fitted tees, and tanks communicate something different: no politician gets automatic loyalty, and no party gets a permanent pass.

The message works for independent voters, libertarians, centrists, the politically homeless, and anyone exhausted by lesser-evil elections. Wear it at a rally, on a podcast, at a convention, in the gym, or wherever a blunt reminder might pull a conversation away from personalities and back toward policy.

Policy over party means applying the same standard to both sides. If debt matters, it matters under Republican and Democratic administrations. If civil liberties matter, they matter when your opponents and your allies hold power. If corruption, surveillance, war, censorship, or corporate favoritism is wrong, changing the logo above it does not make it right.

That consistency is the point of this collection. The slogan is short, but the principle is serious: replace partisan reflexes with independent judgment. Politicians work for the public—not the other way around—and their records deserve more attention than their party labels.
