The Media's Illusion of Choice
Cable news turns politics into team sports while the biggest stories stay buried.
CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, OANN. They look like they are fighting each other. But they all survive on the same business model: keep you angry, keep you watching, keep you distracted.
The script is always the same. Create conflict, assign villains, protect the system. Both sides get their heroes. Both sides get their villains. The actual corruption rarely gets the attention it deserves.
Real journalism gets expensive fast. Outrage is cheap. That is why so much of modern political media feels like professional wrestling with a chyron.
The next time you watch cable news, ask who benefits from the frame. Ask what they are not telling you. The answer usually matters more than the segment.
