Woke Capitalism: How Corporations Fake Progress

šŸ“°

June is Pride Month. Every company suddenly has a rainbow logo. They sponsor parades and donate to LGBTQ+ causes—at least the ones that play well on social media.

But look at their actual practices. The same companies celebrating Pride are lobbying against workers' rights overseas. The same brands posting Black History Month content are funding politicians who oppose voting rights.

This is called woke capitalism: using social causes as marketing while maintaining the status quo. It's cheap, it's effective, and it's completely hollow.

Corporations don't have values. They have marketing departments. Every rainbow flag is a calculation: the revenue gained from appearing progressive exceeds the cost. When it doesn't, the rainbow flag disappears faster than you can say 'quarterly earnings.'

Don't be fooled. They're not your friends. They're not activists. They're selling you something—and the product is your cynicism.
